CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP 

Mekong Studies Center actively organizes and participates in local and international conference, workshop and forum,  which participants constitute of government agencies, private sectors and academia who have specialized knowledge about different countries Greater Mekong Sub-region. Such collaborations have been successful for experts of different sectors to come together to present or share their research or experience about different topic of interest that are about or related to Greater Mekong Sub-region. 

To end the project on “Elites and Labour in South East Asia: Structure and Dynamic in Transition”, Mekong Studies Center in collaboration with The Thai Research Fund organized and a seminar for researchers to share their research findings on 16 May 2019, at The Chumbhot-Pantip Conference Room, 4th Floor Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Building, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The seminar on “Election 4.0: Social Media and Thai politics” was held on 25 February, organized by Institute of Asian Studies, Chulaoongkorn University, at The Chumbhot-Pantip Conference Room, 4th Floor Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Building, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

On 15 February 2019, Mekong Studies Center and Chinese Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University in collaboration with Wawasan Open University, Penang, Malaysia held a regional symposium on "Connectivity, Mobility and Regional Integration in ASEAN". We were honored to have many scholars and representatives from Wawasan Open University joining and exchanging constructive idea in this symposium.

On the same day, the two universities held a roundtable meeting on “Technological challenges and future opportunities for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Southeast Asia region". The objective of the meeting was to discuss about the importance of technology in SMEs, improving productivity and define the roles of universities in the industrial development, especially SMEs.
We were very pleased to have Dr. Supot Tiarawut, Advisor to the President and Chief Transformation Officer at Chulalongkorn University and Dr. Ronnakorn Vaiyavuth, Director of Innovation, CU Innovation Hub, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shankar Chelliah, Assoc. Prof. in International Business School of Management, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Mr. Kalai Selvan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder Infinecs System Sdn Bhd., and Prof. David Ngo, Former Deputy Vice Chancellor, Wawasan Open University as our speakers and moderator, respectively.

Fruitful International Conference on "Connectivity, Mobility and Regional Integration in ASEAN". On 29 January 2019, Mekong Studies center and Chinese Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University held an international conference in collaboration with Paragon International University, Phom Penh, Cambodia on "Connectivity, Mobility and Regional Integration in ASEAN. We are honored to have many scholars, representatives from different institutes as well as students from Paragon International University joining and exchanging constructive idea in this conference. This conference establishes the academic collaboration between the two universities.

On 18 and 25 September 2018, Mekong Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University in collaboration with ASEAN Association of Thailand organized two seminars titled “The Challenges of ASEAN: Current and the next 5 years” at The Chumbhot-Pantip Conference Room, 4th Floor Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Building, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

On June 8, 2018, Mekong Studies Center in collaboration with Center for Social Development Studies and MA & PhD Programs in International Development Studies, Chulalongkorn University, organized and facilitated a seminar on “Local Livelihood Situation and Peace Process in Myanmar: Dynamic of Changes in Kachin State”at Association Alumni Meeting Room, 12th floor of Kasem Ujananin Building (60 years of Faculty of Political Science), Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
